A little about me...

A little about me...

Hi, I’m Bec – and welcome to Soul Splatter.

My personal journey into the creative wellbeing space began with hands-on experience in dementia care, where I witnessed firsthand the profound impact that creative connection could have on quality of life.

What started as a playful love for creating quickly blossomed into something much deeper—a spark of passion that inspired me to formally study Creative Arts and Health, and Art Therapy.

This path has allowed me to blend empathy, imagination, and evidence-based practice to support others on their journeys of expression, connection, and healing.

I now hold a Diploma in Creative Arts and Health from UTAS, and an Art Therapy Practitioner certification through Health and Harmony Colleges.

This study area helps us;

  • Understand the physiological, psychological, and social impacts of engaging in and delivering creative arts programmes.

  • Develop practical skills for community/health environments: planning, ethics, trauma-informed practice.

  • Enhance self-care and mindfulness alongside creative expression.

Thanks for stopping by—I’m so glad you’re here.

Quotes from some of our participants

It was good to start something without needing to know exactly where it's heading...or how it would end. For me, it was a chance to find my flow through colour, movement and texture - and a reminder that there's no 'right' or 'wrong' way to express, only what feels like truth in the moment.

I left reminded that I am strong, loving, kind, and creative.

Bec was really welcoming, made the kids feel comfortable which made the class really easy. The kids had a blast.

Billy

Parent with 2 kids - attended "Unwind in Colour"

It felt like a massage, and the feeling of euphoric sleepiness one has when the masseur leaves one to relax in the glow of it all, or when stretching on the mat after a gym session.

Jane

Participant, "Unwind in Colour"

Before the session, I felt chaotic and rushed, but felt calm afterwards.

I found it very therapeutic. It was lovely to zone out and immerse myself in the activity. I felt calm and relaxed during the session and it was fantastic to tap into my inner thoughts and create a piece that reflects my current mood.
